In 1979, the company Alto Carbono SA de CV was founded in the State of Queretaro, Mexico. Alto Carbono was dedicated to the market of steel wire strand. After a few years of being a lider in the national market of that country, the same group founded a company named Cablesa SA de CV, also in the state of Queretaro, Cablesa was dedicated to make steel wire rope of the highest quality with the wires provided by Alto Carbono.A few years later, the company group surrounded by the best experts of the country in steel wire rope, starts an adventure and installs four plants in the United States (Phoenix, Washington, New Orleans and Houston). The group was nearly 50,000 tons a year of steel wire ropes and cable.For the year 1990 and associated with IUSA founded a new bimetals company, Alumoclad de Mexico SA de CV, also located in Queretaro. Alumoclad is the lider and unique maker in Mexico of steel wire ropes and steel wire strand with a coat of aluminum, used in applications of OPGW and cores of ASCR cables.Then in 2008, looking to innovate and with the 20 years of experience making bimetals and wire strand and cable we create the CopperClad company. This new company of the group is dedicated to the manufacture of copper clad steel and aluminum clad steel. This product, the CopperClad, is an innovation and substitute for copper to thousands of applications, generating cost savings to our clients and satisfaction.CopperClad is a patented product, and we are the unique makers of that product in the country. The copperclad market embraces the field of telecommunications, electrical systems, automotive market, aerial and grounded electrical transmission lines.   Bimetallic Products In 1990 Alumoclad de Mexico was found in Queretaro, Mexico, to produce Aluminum Clad Steel and Copper Clad Ground Rods both of which are bimetallic products. These products are primarily used in ACSR Transmission and Distribution lines as well as OPGW lines. Copper clad ground rods were also a logical additional product. Alumoclad uses Conform technology to produce the aluminum clad rods. These wires are drawn and closed into strands that are sold internationally. The capacity is approximately 7200 MT/yr. In the fall of 2009 Copperclad S.A. de C.V. was constructed in Queretaro, Mexico to produce other bimetal rods such as Copper Clad Steel and Copper Clad Aluminum. These products again are a natural fit with the other bimetal products produced by Alumoclad de Mexico. The rods are clad, drawn, heat treated and stranded in this facility.
