Die Industrie- und Feuerungstechnik des Gas- und Wärme-Institut Essen e. V. (GWI) arbeitet seit Jahrzehnten für alle Industriebranchen auf dem Gebiet der Brenner- und Feuerraumentwicklung. Dazu gehören neben der Optimierung der Brennertechnologien, die Schadstoffminderung (NOx) und die Erhöhung der Energie-effizienz von Thermoprozessanlagen.Durch die Verknüpfung von numerischer Simulation, experimentellen Untersuchungen an Versuchsanlagen des GWI und Vorortuntersuchungen bei Industriepartnern, können Projekte zeiteffektiv und kostengünstig bearbeitet werden.Aktuelle Fragestellungen beschäftigen sich mit den Auswirkungen von Gasbeschaffenheits-schwankungen und der Einspeisung erneuerbarer Gase (H2), Biogas) auf Thermoprozessanlagen. Weiterhin gelangt die energetische Nutzung von Rest- und Abfallstoffen unter wirtschaftlichen Aspekten immer weiter in den Vordergrund. The Department of Industrial Combustion Technology of Gas- und Wärme-Institut Essen e. V. (GWI) has been working in the field of industrial gas utilization for many different industries for decades. Its main activities include burner optimization, reduction of pollutant emissions (primarily NOx) and increase of the energetic efficiency of thermal processing applications.By combining numerical modeling, experimental investigation at GWI’s semi-industrial test rigs and on-site measurements on the premises of our industrial partners, contract research projects can be carried out in a timely and cost-efficient manner.GWI’s current activities include the effects of natural gas quality fluctuations and the injection of regenerative Gases (H2, biogas) on thermal processing applications and the energetic utilization of waste and biogenic material, considering both technological and economic aspects.
